Unique Celtic Folk Fusion Collective LUAS, Based Between France and Germany, Launch Debut Single 'Ard Tí Cuain'

LUAS

LUAS is a unique band/collective that create feel-good Celtic fusion music, based between France and Germany. Their style is deeply rooted in Irish and Scottish traditions while incorporating elements of pop, world, rock, and jazz music.

Band leader and vocalist Brian Haitz, renowned in Germany as an Irish flute player and guitarist, expressed his excitement, calling it a dream come true. With LUAS he perfected the song "Ard Tí Cuain," - which holds sentimental value, being a Gaelic piece his father sang. The song - meaning the mountains behind the bay - reflects on solitude and yearning for ones home. It reminisces of the‚ cuckoo’s glen and playing hurling on the white shore strand. "Over the years, my rendition evolved into a modern, catchy, yet deeply rooted version!“, he said.

The group, which consists of core and part-time members, enriches their music through creative cross-pollination among a pool of musicians from the Celtic folk scene. Notably, Simon Pfisterer (3onthebund, Cara) and Malin Lewis (Malin Makes Music) bring their talents on the Irish Uilleann Pipes and Scottish Highland Pipes, respectively. Look out for Malin's debut appearance in the upcoming release - late April!

"I have been playing Irish music all my life, yet always felt like a bit of a lost seeker.. on a journey to develop my full potential.“, says Brian Haitz about the inception of the band.

Embracing failures as stepping stones, he persevered to carve out his unique style, drawing inspiration from various aspects of life such as sports, mindfulness, and (even) ice baths.

Their next release, "Wonky Driveway," set for the end of April, promises an original, upbeat tune featuring Malin Lewis on the Scottish Highland Pipes.
