Toronto-based Georgia Harmer comes from a family of artists, including aunt Sarah Harmer, and has been recording her own songs since age 10.
The 22 year old was touring as a backing singer before focusing on her own music. Her debut album sparkles with that lightning in a bottle feel; an unforgettable statement from a new artist. Stay In Touch releases April 22 on Arts & Crafts.
Her striking voice is a cross-hatching of Joni Mitchell’s birdsong, the emotional vulnerability of Adrianne Lenker and the seductive tones of Hope Sandoval, with music built from rich melodies accompanied confidently by electric guitar draped in distortion, and anchored by a patient yet powerful backbeat.
Coming from a strong bloodline of artists and poets, including her aunt, Georgia cut her teeth as a backing vocalist for Alessia Cara. The unstoppable single “All In My Mind ”, featuring a video directed and edited by Georgia, is about a relationship that made her feel crazy and question her own reality.
Georgia will be touring with Dan Mangan.
