The Sound Cafe Editor Stevie Connor First Journalist Of 2023 To Be Featured On Muck Rack Leaderboard

Big congratulations to our founder and editor, Stevie Connor, on being the first featured journalist on the Muck Rack leaderboard in 2023. Stevie is a tireless supporter of signed and unsigned artists in many genres from around the world, he writes and contributes from his base in Port Credit, which is part of the city of Mississauga in Ontario, Canada, he launched the platform three years ago, and has contributors from across Canada and in countries around the world.


The Sound Cafe has built a solid reputation as the go to place to find new music in many genres from Canada and all over the world, you'll find new music from well known established artists, and also you'll find some of the best independent artists that you probably will never have heard of, but, they are guaranteed to make you want to explore further.

Muck Rack is a public relations management platform based in Miami, Florida, that enables organizations to connect with journalists to generate media coverage. One of the goals on the Muck Rack platform is to be the go-to resource for data, best practices and leading industry knowledge for PR professionals and journalists. Muck Rack's, Marla Lapore, who is based in Nashville writes, "Today’s featured journalist is Stevie Connor, founder and editor of The Sound Cafe Magazine. Originally from Scotland, for the last 16 years Stevie has been based just outside of Toronto in the GTA. In addition to The Sound Cafe Magazine, Stevie is co-founder of Blues and Roots Radio and has written in the past for Blues and Roots Radio (Canada), Great Dark Wonder (USA), Fatea Magazine (UK) and Music World Media (Australia). He’s also a recorded artist, having contributed to more than twenty albums in the past, ranging from rock to folk and Celtic music.


Stevie has contributed his many years of experience as a respected juror for the JUNO Awards, The Canadian Folk Music Awards and the Maple Blues Awards in Canada. He hosts a monthly podcast on The Sound Cafe featuring interviews with artists from around the world, and he curates a monthly Spotify playlist presenting a wide range of genres."


We asked Stevie what this meant to him, "Humbling, very humbling, a huge thank you to Muck Rack for including me as their first featured journalist for 2023, it's always very humbling to be recognized by your peers. A big shout has to go out to all the contributors at The Sound Cafe for the work they do.
