On Monday, February 10th, 2025, the stage of Toronto’s TD Music Hall will come alive with stories and songs as Four Chords & the Truth takes centre stage for a very special evening. This benefit concert will unite talented musicians, generous sponsors, and devoted fans to aid Canadian music workers impacted by the devastating L.A. Fires.

At the heart of this incredible night is Andrea England, the visionary founder of Four Chords & the Truth. A Nova Scotia-born, Toronto-based singer-songwriter, Andrea has created a musical haven that has become an integral part of the city’s cultural fabric. What began in 2015 at the Dakota Tavern — Toronto’s beloved “subterranean honky-tonk haven,” as described by The New York Times — has blossomed into one of Toronto’s most cherished events.

Andrea drew inspiration from Nashville’s legendary Bluebird Cafe and the East Coast’s intimate sessions pioneered by Bruce Guthro to create a unique experience: “in the semi-round” performances. Songwriters gather in a circle, taking turns performing one song at a time over three rounds. These raw and unfiltered moments allow artists to share the personal backstories behind their songs, inviting the audience into their world. The result is something deeply human — spontaneous collaborations, heartfelt confessions, and an intimate connection between artists and listeners.

Now hosted in the state-of-the-art TD Music Hall, nestled within the historic Massey Hall / Allied Music Centre complex, the magic of Four Chords has found a perfect home. This modern venue blends rich history with cutting-edge acoustics, ensuring that every strum, lyric, and note resonates with the legacy of Toronto’s storied music scene.

Since its inception, Four Chords & the Truth has brought over 120 award-winning songwriters to its stage, including Grammy and Juno Award winners, Canadian Music Hall of Fame inductees, and even a few Officers of the Order of Canada. Andrea’s keen eye for talent and her dedication to creating a welcoming, diverse space have ensured the event has sold out every single show since Season Three — a testament to the deep connection it fosters.

This February, the show’s focus will shift to an even greater purpose: supporting those in need. The proceeds from this event will go directly to Unison Fund’s Natural Disaster Relief Program, offering vital assistance to Canadian music workers affected by the L.A. Fires.

Doors open at 6:00 PM, with performances running from 7:00 to 9:00 PM, including a brief intermission. With just 245 seats available, this is an intimate gathering designed to feel like you’re part of something truly special. Tickets are priced at $40 (+ fees and taxes), with 100% of ticket sales, merchandise, and raffle proceeds going toward the Unison Fund.

Adding to the excitement, a Roland stage piano, generously provided by Long & McQuade, will be raffled off at the end of the night. Imagine taking home a piece of the evening’s magic while knowing your contribution is making a difference.

With a carefully curated lineup of Four Chords alumni and surprise guests, this benefit concert promises not just exceptional music but a meaningful opportunity to come together as a community. Whether you’re a longtime fan of Four Chords or discovering it for the first time, February 10th will be an evening of hope, connection, and unforgettable performances.

As Andrea herself has shown time and again, music has the power to bring people together, heal, and inspire. This event is more than a concert — it’s a call to action, a way for all of us to lift up those in our music community during a challenging time.

Don’t miss your chance to be part of this extraordinary evening. Together, we can make a difference.

The FCATT and Massey Hall Friends & Family pre-sale starts Monday, January 27th, at 10 am (EST), and the Public sale will proceed on Tuesday, January 28th,
