Platinum-certified critically acclaimed singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer Em Beihold returns with her much-anticipated new single “Maybe Life Is Good ”.
Fans have clamoured for the track’s official release ever since she first posted a snippet of “Maybe Life Is Good” on social media. In advance of its arrival, it has already generated nearly 500K views and counting across platforms.
In classic Em Beihold fashion, “Maybe Life Is Good” showcases her clever songcraft over inventive production. Once again, she opens up lyrically and delivers another quirky and quotable chorus. On the track, a buoyant beat brushes up against affirmations such as, “Give yourself a break when you fall out of line.” Electric guitar and glimmering piano enliven the colorful soundscape. This momentum builds towards an uplifting refrain where she urges, “Maybe take a breath, maybe do it twice, I know you’re in pain, but that’s a part of life…and maybe life is good.”
“I was in a bit of a low point last year,” she says. “I was struggling to connect with myself and the things that make me feel the best. Writing ‘Maybe Life Is Good’ was like writing a life vest out of my situation. It’s optimistic, but there’s a little skepticism with the word ‘Maybe’. It’s just real.”
To celebrate the release, Em will embark on her first-ever North American headline run, the "Maybe Life is Good" tour, starting on February 20, 2024. Check out the full itinerary below.
This marks a new chapter for Em who first found her way into the minds and hearts of millions worldwide with her debut hit single “Numb Little Bug” in 2022. Not only did the song clock north of half-a-billion streams, but it also vaulted into the Top 20 of the Billboard Hot 100, picked up a platinum plaque, and saw Em soar to #1 on the Billboard Emerging Artists Chart. In its wake, the platinum-selling Los Angeles-born singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer opened up her world with the Egg In The Backseat EP. Acclaim followed from The New York Times, Billboard, Forbes, Stereogum, Teen Vogue, V Magazine, and Variety. She notably joined Stephen Sanchez for the duet version of “Until I Found You,” reeling in billions of streams. Plus, she hit the road with Lewis Capaldi and collaborated with GAYLE, Lauren Spencer Smith, Meduza, and Eric Nam. Not to mention, she shined with television performances on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and The Late Late Show with James Corden—alongside Sanchez. Throughout 2023, she remained prolific with fan favorite tracks, including “Roller Coasters Make Me Sad” and “Pedestal.”

For Em Beihold, music opens a conduit to all of those emotions we think about constantly, but are often too nervous or afraid to say aloud in everyday conversation. With a sharp pen and infectious voice, she takes all of the awkwardness, anxiety, stress, hesitancy, and uncertainty of everyday life and turns it into pretty, yet punchy pop music. It’s like she’s making sense of her mental health in real-time, layering diary-style lyrical confessions over sunny piano and bright beat-craft.
