Jeanick Fournier, winner of the second season of Canada’s Got Talent and Canada’s newest pop diva, announces her second studio album Vivante, releasing on May 19. Alongside the exciting announcement, Jeanick Fournier shares a touching new ballad “Ne m’oublie pas”, which will be included as part of the album’s tracklisting.
The piano-driven new single arrives just weeks after Jeanick Fournier’s most recent single release, “Dans la peau”. The vast range of Jeanick’s talent is showcased in the two songs, making us dance with the upbeat “Dans la peau” and telling a more emotional story in “Ne m’oublie pas”. Vivante, which translates to “Alive”, will include songs of both nature and more, highlighting the singer as a complete artist with her catalog continuing to grow.
“This is a song that I will perform near the end of my concerts that tells the audience that this wonderful adventure I’m currently living can end overnight, but please don’t forget about me… always believe in me,” says Jeanick about the new song. “A beautiful gift that Andréanne A. Malette wrote for me.”
Jeanick’s forthcoming sophomore effort is comprised exclusively of original songs performed in French, written uniquely for her about her life with songs about her partner, her children, her experience since winning Canada’s Got Talent, and more.
“It is a privilege to present this album to you, written for me with lyrics that tell my story,” explains Jeanick about her new project. “I hope you can recognize yourself in each of the songs, that they touch your heart and make you dance. I can’t wait to perform them on stage for you all!”
“Ne m’oublie pas” is the second new single from Jeanick Fournier this year, arriving months after her rendition of “I’ll Never Love Again” from A Star is Born, for which she received a standing ovation during her performance on America’s Got Talent: All Stars in January. It marks the latest era for the singer after the release of her self-titled record label debut album, Jeanick Fournier, which debuted at #13 on the Billboard Canadian Albums chart, and at #1 in Québec with over 2,000 copies sold in the first week. One month after the album released, it was still sitting strong at #4 on the Top English Albums chart, and at #10 overall in Québec. Jeanick Fournier has not left the Top 3 on ADISQ’s Top English Albums from a Québec-Based Artist chart since its release.
The album’s single “Ça ira” was a massive success at radio across Québec, peaking at #25 on the Mainstream AC chart. The album and single’s success helped Jeanick earn a coveted spot on Journal de Montréal’s “Top 10 Personalities of the Year” list. She was also named amongst La Presse’s “Champions of 2022”.
The star artist continues her breakout year with her upcoming album release and a tour across Québec this fall, making stops in Gatineau, St-Hyacinthe, Drummondville, Sherbrooke, Joliette, and more.
There are some voices that are so powerful that they take your breath away the instant you first hear them. Québec’s Jeanick Fournier is one of those people. Possessing an undeniable natural talent, the mother of two and former palliative care beneficiary attendant has drawn the attention of the nation by winning the second season of Canada’s Got Talent with grace, humility, and the voice of an angel. With a Golden Buzzer under her belt, and a thrilling career as one of Canada’s most exciting new voices underway, Jeanick attributes her success to her dedication and passion for her craft - but it must also be said that her voice is one of those rare forces that can grab you by the soul, and people gravitate towards her because of her authenticity, her generosity of spirit, and a certain magic that comes along once in a generation. Her self-titled album introduced her immense talent to the world, and she continues to impress international audiences with her forthcoming second studio album, Vivante.
